Description
Provence has been seducing photographers since the invention of the camera — and painters long before that. This 6-day tour is built around the light: sunrise over the lavender fields, golden hour in the hilltop villages, blue hour on the calanques. Designed for every level, from smartphone to full-frame, with a guide who knows exactly where to stand and when.

- Sunrise shoot over the Valensole lavender fields
- Golden hour in Gordes and Roussillon
- Van Gogh's light in Arles
- Wild horses and flamingos of the Camargue
- Blue hour on the Cassis calanques
- Personal coaching at every level
Itinerary
Day 1 – Aix-en-Provence: reading the light
Arrival in Aix-en-Provence and technical briefing over a welcome drink: reading the Provençal light, planning the week’s shoots, adjusting to each participant’s gear and level.
First session at sunset on the Cours Mirabeau and the old town’s fountains — a warm-up for the eye. Overnight in Aix.
Day 2 – Sunrise over Valensole
Early start — the light is worth it. Sunrise shoot on the Valensole plateau, among the endless rows of lavender (June–July) or golden wheat and almond trees the rest of the year. Composition workshop: leading lines, depth, working the haze.
Afternoon at the Sainte-Croix lake and the entrance of the Verdon gorges. Editing session before dinner. Overnight near Valensole.
Day 3 – Gordes, Sénanque & the ochres of Roussillon
The Luberon’s most photogenic duo. Morning in Gordes — the classic postcard viewpoint at dawn, then details: stone lanes, shadows, doorways. Continue to the Sénanque Abbey in its lavender hollow.
Golden hour in Roussillon on the Ochre Trail, where the cliffs turn from orange to blood-red as the sun drops. Overnight in the Luberon.
Day 4 – Arles, city of images
Arles, the city that taught Van Gogh about light — and hosts Europe’s greatest photography festival, Les Rencontres d’Arles (July–September). Street photography workshop in the Roman streets, the arena and the Saturday market.
Depending on season, visit of the festival exhibitions or the LUMA tower. Overnight in Arles.
Day 5 – Wild Camargue
The Camargue, Europe’s wildest delta. Dawn session with the white horses and black bulls in the marshes (local guardian arranged), then the pink flamingos of the Pont de Gau ornithological park.
Sunset among the salt pans of Salin-de-Giraud, where the water turns rose and violet. Overnight in Arles.
Day 6 – Calanques & blue hour in Cassis
Grand finale on the coast: the calanques of Cassis. Coastal hike with shooting stops over En-Vau and Port-Pin, turquoise water against white limestone.
Blue hour session at the port of Cassis, final group review of the week’s images — everyone leaves with a portfolio and the settings to reproduce it. Transfer to Marseille airport or station.
