Day 1 – The soul of Marseille: Noailles & Le Panier

Your Provençal adventure begins in Marseille, France's oldest city. Guided by a local resident, you will start in Noailles, the "exotic heart" of Marseille, where markets overflow with oriental spices and century-old shops perpetuate traditions. Discover the origins of La Marseillaise and the site of the very first cinema in history.

In the afternoon, continue on to Le Panier, the oldest district in the city. Its narrow streets and colourful façades lead to charming squares, craft workshops, santonniers (figurine makers) and contemporary street art. This combination of history and creativity perfectly reflects Marseille's identity.

Free evening to enjoy the lively atmosphere of the Old Port. Night in Marseille.

From the Luminy campus, set off on a guided hike in the Calanques National Park, where limestone cliffs plunge into turquoise waters. Your guide will take you to spectacular viewpoints overlooking the Sugiton and Saint-Jean-de-Dieu calanques, while sharing their knowledge of the region's flora, fauna and geology.

Picnic en route with views of the Mediterranean, then return to Marseille for a free evening. Night in Marseille.

Departure in the morning for Cassis, a charming fishing port with colourful boats and lively terraces. Option of a boat cruise in the calanques (weather permitting) and a scenic drive along Cap Canaille, the highest sea cliff in Europe.

In the afternoon, head to the Luberon, home to some of Provence's most beautiful villages: Lourmarin and its Renaissance castle, Roussillon with its ochre cliffs, and Gordes, a spectacular stone village perched above the valley. Stop for photos in Bonnieux before arriving in Aix-en-Provence. Overnight stay in Aix-en-Provence.

Morning transfer to Avignon, the "City of Popes". Explore the historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site: the Palais des Papes, the lively Place de l'Horloge and the famous Pont d'Avignon.

In the afternoon, continue through the vineyards of the Rhône Valley to Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Visit a local winery, discover the terroir and taste the region's powerful red wines. Overnight stay in Avignon.

Discover Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, with its Roman ruins and picturesque streets lined with fountains, cafés and shops. Guided tour of the town's highlights.

Continue on to Les Baux-de-Provence, perched on a rock at 245 m. Visit the Romanesque church of Saint-Vincent, the Hôtel des Porcelets, and stroll through the cobbled streets offering spectacular views of the Alpilles.

Optional: admission to the Carrières de Lumières, a former quarry transformed into a multimedia art show. Overnight stay in Avignon.

End the trip with a visit to the Pont du Gard, a colossal Roman aqueduct dating back to the 1st century and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stroll across its ancient arches, visit the museum or simply admire the natural beauty of the surrounding area.

Return to Avignon in the afternoon, concluding your adventure in Provence.
